HOW TO POST A PICTURE, HAVE A PROFILE PIC AND A SIGNATURE

Displaying any of these requires a website to link the pics... so you need to open an account with say, Photobucket (www.photobucket.com) or Tinypic (www.tinypic.com) and store your pictures in those (make sure they're not too big or otherwise you will spend a lot of time waiting for them to upload and these sites have size limits too lol) These accounts are free and only require your email account and for you to make a password.

Once you have stored your pics you will notice ( I will refer to Photobucket from now on) Three windows.... The middle one we won't use for RVM board. We only deal with the top one (that's for posting images that aren't permanent and for profile pics) and the bottom one (that's for your sig and will be permanent)

Ok. Firstly to post a picture on a temporary basis. These are pics that you just want to show once...

Make sure the pic is stored in your pic storage site eg photobucket. It's good practice to have two browser windows open .. I have both RVM and Photobucket open simultaneously so I can post a pic ..if I make a mistake in copying the pic url I can always go back to it easily when the two browser windows are open.

Highlight the TOP window under the pic you want to post and copy that url

Go to make a post so you are in the posting window. The top left hand button says IMAGE, click on that.
Paste the url in the image window. You will notice it already has the h t t p / / there, just paste over it. (make sure the h t t p isn't there twice or it won't work)
Click OK. It will then appear in the posting window with the word image in brackets in front and after it.

Before you click to add your post, please click on PREVIEW first, so you can see what your post looks like ... if you see the picture then you've been successful and you can then post your topic. PREVIEW is a saving grace, lol it saves you going back and editing.



For a Profile pic (the small one in the left hand window of your posts)

Have photobucket and RVM sites open simutaneously if you prefer.

In RVMSanctuary main page, Go to MY CONTROL CENTER, then EDIT PROFILE

You will see a window up the top of the edit profile page that says "MY PHOTO" ...untick the "private" box so it is now available to be viewed. In that window you need post the URL of the photo you want to display. Go to photobucket and copy the TOP window and paste it in the photo window in your profile...Scroll down and select "SAVE CHANGES"... once that has been done you can see the pic in the profile...it will pop up there for you to see. If you need to go back to My control center, click on MY ACCOUNT, which will take you back.



For a permanent signature pic

I have several pics in my sig. To make them look neat , I've made them all the same height , in my case 4 cm high.

Have photobucket open and RVM's main page too.

In RVM site, go to MY CONTROL CENTER, then go to ACCOUNT PREFERENCES.

Look down and you will see a large window that says " USE CUSTOM SIGNATURE" That must be checked to work... this is important. Don't worry about the other windows and boxes ok? Oh ,make sure that " ezcodes" is ticked too (that's just under that window)

Ok... for any sig pics you need to highlight the BOTTOM window in Photobucket. Copy that url and then paste it into the large Custom signature window.. if you want to post several pics right next to one another like I have done in my sig, then paste them all next to one another with no spaces.

Make sure you scroll down and click on SAVE CHANGES.

To test if they have worked, make your own thread of testing and remember to use the PREVIEW button at the bottom of your post.
